Services

What we do, and what actually lands in your hands

Six services. For each one you'll find a situation you might recognize, how we'd handle it, what you get, and when we're not the right fit.

Business & Product Design

Working out what's worth building before anyone builds it.

Sound familiar?

The budget is approved and the vendor is picked, but nobody can say in one sentence what problem the new system solves.

How we'd handle it

We test the idea against three questions: do people want it, can it be built with what you have, and does the business case hold up. If one of those fails, we tell you early, when changing course is cheapest.

What you get

A problem statement your stakeholders agree onA blueprint of the service or productAn assessment of feasibility and costA prioritized roadmap, including what to drop

Not the right fit: If the decision is already made and you're looking for someone to approve it.

Management Consulting

Improving how the work gets done, and helping people take on the change.

Sound familiar?

The process map on the wall doesn't match what staff actually do, and the last change project left everyone wary of the next one.

How we'd handle it

We start by watching how the work really happens instead of relying on interviews. Then we design the new way of working with the people who will use it, and we treat their concerns as useful information.

What you get

Maps of how the process works today and how it should workAn improvement plan, in orderA change management and communications planMeasures, with a baseline taken before we start

Not the right fit: If leadership isn't aligned on the goal. That has to be settled first, and an outside consultant can't settle it for you.

Technology & Architecture

Making sure your systems hold up as you grow or the rules change.

Sound familiar?

Everything works, but nobody can say what breaks if the number of users doubles, and the person who set it all up left last year.

How we'd handle it

We document what you have, find the weak points, and design where you should end up, with steps you can take one at a time so you never have to risk everything on a single big switch.

What you get

A map of your current systems and how they depend on each otherA target design with a step-by-step path to get thereA review of capacity, resilience and securityCosts for each option

Not the right fit: If you want a technology recommendation without an assessment. Without knowing what you have, any recommendation is a guess.

System Development & Implementation

Choosing, setting up and launching a new system, and staying with you through go-live.

Sound familiar?

The system was chosen a year ago. The data migration keeps slipping, testing hasn't started, and the go-live date is already in the board report.

How we'd handle it

We agree on what done means before anything is built, and we test as we go instead of at the end. Before go-live we rehearse the switchover and write down how to roll back. It's how go-lives are run in hospitals, and it's why ours are uneventful.

What you get

Help choosing the vendorSet-up or custom buildData migration and connections to your other systemsTesting and sign-off by your users, documentedA go-live plan, a way back if needed, and extra support afterwards

Not the right fit: If the go-live date can't move no matter how ready you are. We'd rather propose a date you can stand behind.

IT Support

Cloud, backups, security, printing, training and a help desk that answers.

Sound familiar?

Tickets disappear into an inbox, nobody is sure the backups work, and the printer on the second floor is somehow always the emergency.

How we'd handle it

We set up support properly: who handles what, how fast, and when it gets escalated. Then we run it, or hand it to your team. We test backups by restoring them, and we review security on a schedule.

What you get

Cloud setup and administrationBackups with tested restoresNetwork security review and fixesManaged printingStaff trainingA help desk with agreed response times

Not the right fit: Break-fix only, at the lowest possible price. That's usually how backups end up untested.

Healthcare & Specialized Services

Experienced Epic and clinical systems people, when you need them.

Sound familiar?

Go-live is four months out, two analyst positions are still open, and anyone new would need two months just to learn the clinical side.

How we'd handle it

We place analysts and leads who have done this work before: clinical application build, order sets, interfaces, testing, go-live and at-the-elbow support. For smaller consultancies, we can also be the strategy and delivery help you can't justify hiring full-time.

What you get

Healthcare IT staffing: analysts, leads and go-live supportClinical application configuration and content buildBusiness strategy for smaller and specialized firmsInterim cover while you hire permanently

Not the right fit: High-volume staffing at the lowest rate. We only place people we'd put on our own projects.

How an engagement runs

A sequence, because order matters here

Order matters here. Skipping a step is how projects get into trouble.

  1. Discovery and scoping

We meet your people, read what exists and write down the problem in your words. You get a scope document you could hand to another firm, so the decision stays yours.

  2. Design and decision

Options with honest trade-offs, costs and risks. We'll tell you when the cheaper option is the right one, and when doing nothing is reasonable.

  3. Build and configure

We build in short cycles against agreed acceptance criteria, and you see progress every week.

  4. Validation

Testing, build validation and user sign-off, all documented. Problems are logged and closed in the open, and you see the list.

  5. Cutover and support

A go-live plan, a way to roll back, downtime procedures and a named person to call, plus extra support for an agreed period afterwards.

  6. Transfer

Runbooks, documentation and training so your team can run it. If you want us to stay on, we can.

Not sure which service you need?

That's common. The scoping tool helps you work it out in six questions.
